Author Adam-Troy Castro attends a meet and greet and discussion at Books and Books in Coral Gables, Florida to promote his new book 'Gustav Gloom and the People Taker' which is a book aimed at 8 to 13-year-olds and is the first of six books in a series.

He explains that, 'Gustav Gloom is a very strange little boy who grew up in strange circumstances'. 'He's been raised in what I guess you would call a haunted house by shadows'. When asked what inspired him, he replied that he wanted to do a haunted house story that wasn't clichéd. 'The first thing you do when you're trying to write a book that's a little bit different is you take care of the first thing in it that's most clichéd and the most clichéd thing about it is ghosts so you take out the ghosts, put something else in there instead of ghosts', he said. He also mentions that a second series of books will precede the first and will be titled, 'Gustav Gloom and the Nightmare Vault'.
