The final of Celebrity Big Brother is almost upon us, and former X Factor star Olly Murs has tipped Frankie Cocozza to win the competition. Frankie is the bookies favourite to win the show, and Olly says despite the tabloid attention, his friend is a "nice lad".
Cocozza hit the headlines in 2011 after being axed from the X Factor finals for allegedly bragging about his drug use. He was slated as one of the favourites to leave the Big Brother house within the first week, but appears to have won over the British public and now looks a likely victor. Speaking to Heatworld.com about the Brighton-singer, Murs said, "I've got to say I think Frankie's been brilliant on the show, I think he's really come across well...I always said in interviews what a nice lad he was, I think that unfortunately he got a rough end of the stick on the show (The X Factor)". Asked who he thinks will win the show, Olly could look no further than Cocozza, saying, "I really hope he lifts the trophy tomorrow night, it'd be great to see him do it and great to prove everyone wrong". As mentioned, Frankie is the odds-on favourite to win the show tonight (27 January 2012), though he is joined in the final by 'Loose Women' star Denise Welch, Welsh rugby legend Gareth Thomas, model twins Kristina and Karissa Shannon and 'Reservoir Dogs' actor Michael Madsen.
Elsewhere, Cocozza's former X-Factor mentor Gary Barlow has also thrown his support behind the disgraced singer, tweeting, "Come on FrankieCocozza I hope you win mate".
