CeeLo Green may have apologised for the comments about rape he allegedly tweeted on Sunday (31st August) but the bad publicity has caused a concert organiser to drop him from their line up.

Green's alleged comments were posted on Twitter on Sunday (31st August) and were quickly deleted but not before many users had taken screen shots. According to E!, Green wrote how sex with an unconscious person does not count as rape. His supposed comments came in the wake of his sentencing at an L.A. court last week which he pleaded no contest to charges of supplying ecstasy to a woman in 2012. The woman in question also claimed Green had sexually assaulted her whilst she was unconscious. However, the DA decided not to press rape charges as there was insufficient evidence.

Green's alleged comments appear to have addressed this, as E! reports. The series of tweets read: "People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!! If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent." A further comment read "When someone brakes on a home there is broken glass where is your plausible proof anyone was raped."

After temporarily deleting his Twitter account, Green resurfaced and apologised two days after the comments were posted. He tweeted: "I truly and deeply apologize for the comments attributed to me on Twitter. Those comments were idiotic, untrue and not what I believe."

However, his apology appears to have come too late and he has been dropped from a concert line up. As Billboard reports, Green was due to appear in Washington at a concert sponsored by the US Navy on 20th September. The Freedom Live Concert organisers announced their decision to drop Green via their Facebook page, writing "Regardless of intent or context, the lack of sensitivity towards an issue [sexual assault] that is one of the great challenges facing our Navy is unacceptable."
