Looking at the ratings results of the first five days of the CBS blackout in the Time Warner Cable markets, you'd hardly know that a disruption in service had occurred. Only the CBS hit Under the Dome seemed to be significantly affected, as its numbers dropped 9 percent to 10.4 million from 11.4 million the previous week. But that drop could also have been attributed to stronger competition in the guise of ABC's Bachelorette wrap-p, which drew 8.331 million viewers, more than twice the number who tuned in to ABC's Mistresses in the same time period a week earlier. Other declines were so small as to be hardly worth mentioning, said Advertising Age magazine. Meanwhile, newly elected senator Edward Markey of Massachusetts asked the FCC on Tuesday to step in and force the reopening of negotiations between the two sides.
