Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas have put their home in Bedford, New York, up for sale.

The couple, who recently reconciled their differences, hope to fetch $8.1 million for the stylish home, which includes around five acres of land.

The property, built in the 1930s, also features a centre hall, six bedrooms and six bathrooms, as well as multiple gardens, a greenhouse, a pool and a spa.

Catherine, 44, moved into the luxurious home during their separation and took the opportunity to ride horses on the huge expanses of land.

The couple only acquired the property in 2010, when they paid around $5 million for it - but they are already keen to sell it.

This comes shortly after the award-winning actress admitted she was a ''mess'' after her husband was diagnosed with cancer.

Michael, 69, discovered he had stage four throat cancer in 2010 after being misdiagnosed, ''not once, not twice, but three times''.

The actress said: ''When I'm married to a man who has such a conviction for life ... he fights to make the wrongs right. For the first time he was fighting for his life.''

Michael - who has daughter Carys, 11, and son, Dylan, 12, with Catherine - has been cancer-free since January 2011.
