Cate Blanchett loves to make her own face scrubs and cites Tom Ford as her beauty icon.
The Australian actress likes to make her skin ''zing'' by mixing oils with fruit juice and salt after a friend showed her The Benefits.
She explained to the British edition of InStyle magazine: ''Olive and macadamia oils are really good for your complexion. Put one of them on in the shower and they make your skin zing.
''I incorporate them into a homemade scrub with grapefruit juice and sea salt - a beauty trick taught to me by a friend of mine.''
The 43-year-old beauty also admitted to a surprising beauty icon - male designer Tom Ford.
She said: ''People always ask me who my beauty icon is - and it's Tom Ford. He always looks superb and his make-up range is To Die For.''
Cate believes her skin looks better than ever because she is so careful about looking after herself.
She said: ''I feel like my skin has looked its best in the past 10 years in terms of stability and how even it is, purely because I have maintained a good regime with amazing products.
''And they have to work hard with all the abuse it gets, what with lack of sleep, my children and a busy schedule.''
