Cate Blanchet blurted out an expletive at an interviewer after he asked her how she managed to control her 'Cinderella' character's cat in the fantasy film.
Cate Blanchett was left fuming after an interviewer asked her how she manages to control the cat in 'Cinderella'.
The 45-year-old actress blurted out an expletive after being asked by Jonathan Hyla from Australian TV show 'The Project' about how she is able to direct her character Lady Tremaine's Russian Blue feline in the fantasy film, and he compared her alter-ego's actions to his own efforts with his girlfriend's four-legged friend.
Towards the end of the interview, which has been obtained by Daily Mail Australia, he asked: ''OK, serious question, how were you able to get that cat to do what you wanted it to do on a leash?
''I tried to put my girlfriend's cat on a leash and it just never works for me.''
But Cate responded: ''That's your question? That's your f***ing question?''
She then awkwardly admitted it was ''nice'' to meet the interviewer before ending the uncomfortable exchange.
The conversation didn't get off to a great start as Jonathan joked he should've taken along some beers for the pair to consume during their chat.
Cate replied: ''I do not drink beers.''
He then asked: ''What should I have brought with me that would have helped break the ice here?''
While she didn't seem to be too taken by his sense of humour, the actress admitted a ''potato vodka'' would've been her preferred choice of beverage.
Halfway through the conversation, Cate admitted they should ''start over'' after leaving the interviewer expressionless following her description of the chemistry between Lily James and Richard Madden - who play Cinderella and Prince Charming - in the movie.
She said: ''Getting back to the movie at hand, one of us has got to do our job, the chemistry between them is amazing.
''They could push it over into an R-rating except they don't really do anything. I mean they do so much, but they don't 'do' anything.''
