Lil Wayne has filed a lawsuit against his record label Cash Money for $51 million claiming they owe him millions of dollars for his upcoming album 'Tha Carter V'.
The 32-year-old rapper has filed a lawsuit, which has been obtained by gossip website TMZ, against the company, whose CEO is fellow rapper Birdman, claiming they owe him millions of dollars for his upcoming album 'Tha Carter V'.
As a result of the alleged withholding of funds, Wayne is looking to leave the record label and is also keen for a judge to declare he is the joint copyright holder for everything released on his Cash Money imprint, record label Young Money, which includes Nicki Minaj and Drake recordings.

Paris has also been spotted partying with the Cash Money crew on a number of occasions, even inviting Wayne to her recent birthday bash.

Hip-hop star Lil Wayne is set to drop his previously delayed 'Tha Carter IV' album at midnight after his appearance on the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (28.08.11).
The 'Lollipop' rapper - whose record was previously due to drop on May 16 before being pushed back to June and then delayed again - is finally set to launch the LP at midnight after the show, which he thinks is an "amazing" idea.
He said in a statement: "I am extremely excited to be the first artist to utilise such an amazing idea. I hope that I can open the door for others."
