Carrie Underwood is set to make her big screen debut in the forthcoming movie 'Soul Surfer'.
CARRIE UNDERWOOD, the American country musician, is trying her hand at acting in the new movie 'Soul Surfer', reports the UK's Daily Mail.Despite establishing herself as one of most popular country musicians in the US, Underwood is making the foray into Hollywood. 'Soul Surfer' follows the story of a teenage surfer who finds the courage to get back into the ocean after having her arm bitten off by a shark. The movie is based on the true story of 'Bethany Hamilton', played by Anna Sophia Robb, who in 2003 was the victim of shark attack but became a surfing champion just months later. Underwood plays Sarah Hill, an inspirational church leader who inspires Bethany to get back into the water. The surfer's parents are played by Hollywood stalwarts Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt.
CARRIE UNDERWOOD had a small role in the television series 'How I Met Your Mother' in 2010 but 'Soul Surfer' will represent her first major film role. The movie is set to hit cinemas on 8th April 2011.
