Movie star Carrie Fisher loves writing for the presenters of the ACADEMY AWARDS - because it means she gets a 'goody basket' of expensive gifts.

The Star Wars actress, who is currently promoting her new book THE BEST AWFUL, regularly writes the scripts for OSCAR presenters - and finds the $95,000 (GBP50,000) worth of freebies she receives as a contributor to the awards bash makes her popular with the rest of her family.

She says, "My job is to rewrite what the presenters say when they are not happy with it.

"You don't get a lot of money but you do get one of the baskets - and suddenly I'm very popular with my daughter and my mother (actress DEBBIE REYNOLDS)."
