Presenter Caroline Flack was recently given a big promotion when Simon Cowell asked the small starlet to step away from fronting the Xtra Factor and take to the main stage for The X Factor.

However, after her stunning win in Strictly Come Dancing’s last season, the perfect ten scorer will have to appear on Cowell’s biggest Saturday night rival for the obligatory final dance during the first episode of the new Strictly series.

Simon Cowell drafted in Caroline Flack and her presenting pal, Olly Murs, in what has been billed as one of the biggest X Factor shake-ups after it was trounced in the ratings by Strictly last year.

But Caroline, who won the dancing show with her partner Pasha Kovalev, cannot pledge total allegiance with her new gig until she has fulfilled her Strictly commitments.

Talking about her stint on Strictly, Caroline admitted she thought she may have severed all ties with The X Factor by appearing on the BBC competition.

She said: "I completely thought I’d closed that door."

However, it turns out the cheeky nature of Caroline and Olly on their Xtra Factor spin-off had caught the eye of Cowell and he decided to bring them back to the big time.

Of the possible scheduling conflict, a source from ITV said: "If schedules allow it then Caroline should be able to take part in Strictly filming as the current champion."
