Legendary singer/songwriter Carole King will be honoured as an Icon at the upcoming Broadcast Music International (Bmi) Pop Awards.
The star will follow in the footsteps of past winners Paul Simon, James Brown and Brian Wilson when she collects the Bmi Icon accolade in recognition of her hitmaking prowess at the Los Angeles event on 15 May (12).
The Grammy winner has penned tunes for artists like Aretha Franklin, The Monkees, the Drifters and Celine Dion, and she was previously inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside her writing partner and ex-husband Gerry Goffin.
