Carol Burnett, the American actress, comedienne, and singer, is set to star in tonight's (23rd November 2010) episode of the hit show Glee, reports the Examiner. 77-year-old Burnett plays 'Doris Sylvester', the mother of 'Sue Sylvester', played by Jane Lynch.
Burnett, who became a Broadway legend, went onto to have a successful career in television, and made appearances on shows such as 'The Garry Moore Show', before beginning a eleven-year run as the host of 'The Carol Burnett Show' on CBS. During tonight's show, Burnett poses the question 'Why oh why did I ever leave Ohio?', before breaking into the song 'Ohio' from the movie 'Wonderful Town', with Lynch. Elsewhere on tonight's episode, 'Kurt' played by Chris Colfer makes an important decision after being pushed to breaking point, and Rachel and Finn, played by Lea Michele and Cory Monteith, take a 'big step'.
Tracks featured on the episode include the aforementioned 'Ohio', as well as 'Marry You' by Bruno Mars, and 'Sway' by Michael Buble. The hit musical-comedy show is now in its second season, which premiered back in September 2010.
