Carnie Wilson, the 42-year-old American singer and daughter of Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson, has been fired from a healthy diet company for selling a brand of cheesecake while simultaneously helping to promote weight loss, reports the US Star Magazine.
Wilson was the spokesperson for the food delivery service 'Fresh Diet', but the company have fired the singer for not losing enough weight and for promoting unhealthy products. EZZY DUCHMAN, spokesperson for Fresh Diet, said, "Carnie Wilson was let go as spokesperson for The Fresh Diet after losing only 19 lbs on the program - and then gaining it all back (plus some) after she launched her own cheesecake company". Duchman claims that Wilson was supposed to be eating three 'Fresh Diet' meals and two snacks a day but didn't stick to the diet plan, adding, "If you're baking cheesecake and selling it, then you can't promote a diet company".
Wilson famously lost 150lbs in 1999 after undergoing gastric bypass surgery, but she is now back up to 230 lbs. Her image has been stripped from the Fresh Diet website. The singer's group Wilson Phillips recently released their new Christmas album entitled 'Christmas in Harmony'.
