Carnie Wilson, daughter of Beach Boys star Brian Wilson, singer and TV host, has been struggling with her weight again, she revealed to Fox News in an interview undertaken ahead of her pre-recorded appearance today, January 3rd 2011, in 'US Celebrity Wife Swap.'
Wilson has always struggled with her weight, ballooning up to 300lbs when finding her own fame as part of vocal trio Wilson Phillips and finding herself subsequently mocked on TV for it. In 1999 she caused a phenomenon by broadcasting on the internet a gastric bypass operation which saw her lose 150 lbs and go down to a size six, resultantly going on to pose nude for Playboy in 2003. However, the star has now admitted that her weight's back up and blamed "stress" and her "obsessive compulsive and addictive" behaviour as the reason behind it. "I can't smoke a joint, I can't have a glass of wine because I want 10 joints and 10 glasses of wine," she explained, "That's my obsessive compulsive and addictive behaviour. I've really struggled since I've become sober. How do I balance that? How can I relax and not overeat? Because I have a lot of pressure in my life."
Though Wilson might feel she's struggling in her life, her popularity as part of Wilson Phillips is at its highest point since the trio took three US Singles' Number Ones and sold 10 million copies of their debut LP at the turn of the 90s. An appearance in last year's 'Bridesmaids' has led to the prospect of new songs and new tour dates, with a reality show of the group 'Still Holding On' set to air in the US in April.
