Musical career: Carly Rae Jepsen came third in the fifth series of 'Canadian Idol' in 2007. She released her first single 'Tug Of War' and a 'Sunshine on My Shoulders' cover in 2008, ahead of the release of her debut album 'Tug Of War' via labels MapleCore and Fontana North. The album also featured the duet song 'Sour Candy' with Marianas Trench's Josh Ramsay. In 2009, she hit the road with Marianas Trench, Shiloh, The New Cities and Mission District. Jepsen refused to performed for the Boy Scouts of America Jamboree in 2013 on the grounds that the organisation still has a policy banning gay men from joining. In 2013, she released remix album 'Kiss: The Remix'.
