Guitar legend Carlos Santana's music career kicked off in an unusual venue when he was 11 years old - in Mexican strip clubs.

The MARIA MARIA hitmaker developed a talent for music at a very young age in his native Mexico, and went on to play at a variety of flesh-filled venues in the border town of Tijuana for cash.

And Santana is amazed at the amount of people who see his first employment venue as bizarre for a young boy.

He says, "I thought it was cool. Odd is like cross-pollinating cows with chickens, or something.

"This is just very normal... because Tijuana is like Las Vegas, only very cooler."
