Carl Morgan, a producer who worked with English urban act So Solid Crew, has been sentenced to a minimum of 30 years in prison after being found guilty of murdering his love rival at London's Old Bailey court.
But So Solid Crew rapper MEGAMAN, real name Dwayne Vincent, will face a retrial in March (06) on murder charges relating to the shooting of Colin Scarlett in south London last year (04), after the jury failed to reach a verdict earlier this month (OCT05).
Vincent stands accused of encouraging Morgan to shoot Scarlett at his Tooting home.
Judge Brian Barker told Morgan, "Gun use is the scourge of our streets and causes misery and distress. You expected eye witnesses would be cowed into silence and that ploy very nearly succeeded."
Scarlett, who was dating the mother of Morgan's two children, was murdered after beating up Morgan following a dispute at his girlfriend's home.
