British actress Carey Mulligan is keeping journals about her rise to stardom - so she can look back and remember her "crazy ride".
The actress has enjoyed a stellar year, landing an Best Actress Oscar nomination for An Education and a leading role in the Wall Street sequel, Money Never Sleeps, where she met current beau Shia LaBeouf.
And the star is so amazed by the way her career has taken off, she has been keeping notes about the most exciting parts - especially when she wins a role she wants.
She says, "When you dream of being an actor when you're six, you dream of lightbulbs around your mirror. It's the fairytale version of what it is to be an actor, so it's mad that it's come true.
"It's been a crazy ride. It's a once-in-a-lifetime thing, so I'm writing stuff down and trying to remember it. As surreal as it is, and as much of an honour as it is to work with people you admire, I'm just going to enjoy it.
"I get the same feeling every time I get a part I really want. Nothing - not even awards - beats that. When you know it's your gig, that's the best feeling in the world."
