Actress Carey Mulligan has raised $2,950 (£1,860) for charity after putting the gown she wore to New York's annual Costume Institute Gala up for auction.
Mulligan caused a stir at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's glitzy event earlier this month (May12) after walking down the red carpet in a futuristic gold and silver Prada piece, and the Drive star put the stunning dress on auction site eBay.com almost as soon as she stepped out of it in a bid to raise money for charity organisation Oxfam.
The gown sold for the pricey sum after the auction closed over the weekend (19May12). Over 30 bidders attempted to get their hands on the luxurious gold garment.
