'The Great Gatsby' star Carey Mulligan is reportedly being eyed up to play former United States First Lady and Secretary of State Hilary Clinton in James Ponsdolt's biopic 'Rodham'.
The 'Great Gatsby' star is reportedly the front runner to take on the role of the former United States First Lady and Secretary of State in filmmaker James Ponsoldt's upcoming biopic 'Rodham'.
The Hollywood Reporter states the actress is scheduled to have negotiations with the director after it has emerged they are both keen to seal the deal on the film, following the life of Clinton before she and her husband entered the White House.
Mulligan's possible participation comes after actresses Jessica Chastain, Reese Witherspoon, Amanda Seyfried and most recently Scarlett Johansson were suggested for the role in the Young Il Kim-penned flick.
Scheduled to be released in 2016 alongside the next US presidential election, which will see Clinton as a candidate again, the feature will be set in 1974 when the former First Lady was in her twenties working as a lawyer in Washington.
