Calvin Harris has teamed up with Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry and Big Sean for his latest single 'Feels' and with it comes a new video featuring the foursome hanging out in what is supposed to be a glorious desert island.
Complete with palm trees tropical flowers, parrots, row boats and clear water, the team have taken an unusual turn by avoiding hiding the fact that the whole thing was shot in a studio - you can even see the shadows of the trees on the walls which are painted to look like the sky.
It adds a lighthearted sense of fun to the song, which itself is Calvin Harris' idea of a summer dance anthem with a heavy reggae beat, a funky melody and sometimes an almost dream-pop ambience.
The 33-year-old DJ will be releasing his fifth album 'Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1' this week (June 30th 2017) through Fly Eye and Columbia Records. Recorded at God's Eyes Studios and Chalice Recording Studios in Los Angeles and 11th Studios in Atlanta, it follows his 2014's album 'Motion' which peaked at number two in the UK and five in the US.
'Feels' is the fourth single from the forthcoming album, after 'Slide' featuring Frank Ocean and Migos; 'Heatstroke' featuring Young Thug, Pharrell Williams and Ariana Grande; and 'Rollin' featuring Future and Khalid. The track was co-written by Starrah, with the video directed by Emil Nava.
Calvin Harris will be performing intermittently at Wet Republic and Omnia for his Las Vegas summer residency, and he'll also appear at Summer Sonic in Japan and the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix this Fall.
