Dance Dj/producer Calvin Harris has been named the U.K.'s most successful songwriter for the second consecutive year.

The Scottish star was previously hailed as the best-selling songwriter in the British charts of 2011 by editors of Music Week magazine, and they have now announced he was also the U.K.'s most prolific hitmaker of 2012.

Harris, who has written for artists including Rihanna and Cheryl Cole, saw off competition from second-placed Australian singer Sia Furler, who has provided tracks for Madonna and Christina Aguilera.

Grammy-nominated pop band fun. came in third.
