M-Bone, the American rapper and Cali Swag District member, died of gunshot wounds in his hometown of Inglewood, California, last night (15th May 2011) , reports Tmz.com. According to law enforcement sources, the rapper was killed in a drive-by shooting.
Earlier today, the group's leader Smoove appeared to confirm the fatality, tweeting, "Ma life changed drastically in the. Blink of an eye rip mbone". M-Bone was reportedly stood next to his vehicle outside a liquor store in Inglewood at 11.31pm on Sunday. Shots were then heard and sources say the gunman was driving down La Brea Avenue alone when he fired the gun. Los Angeles detectives are currently investigating the shooting but insiders say the rapper may have been "in the wrong place at the wrong time". M-Bone, real name Montae Talbert, shot to fame after Cali Swag District released their hit track 'Teach Me How to Dougie' in 2011. Michelle Obama famously danced to the track last month while visiting a Washington D.C. high school in support of her 'Let's Move' initiative.
M-Bone was rushed to hospital following the shooting, where he was pronounced dead during the early hours of Monday morning (16th May 2011).
