Bryan Cranston - Anthony Hopkins: Bryan Cranston Is A "Truly Great Actor"
Anthony Hopkins wrote a letter to Bryan Cranston highly praising his performance in 'Breaking Bad'.
Anthony Hopkins, as well as what seems to be the rest of the world, is mourning the loss of Breaking Bad. Hopkins wrote a letter to Bryan Cranston in which he praised the actor for his performance in the hit AMC series.
Anthony Hopkins described Breaking Bad as "addictive".
The email first appeared over the weekend, according to Gawker, on Steven Michael Quezada's Facebook page (according to The Hollywood Reporter). Hopkin's representative has confirmed the letter is authentic.
It seems the British actor has just finished watching the full run of Breaking Bad and penned the letter to the lead (and indirectly others) stating "everyone gave master classes of performance" and requested his comments be passed on. He further went on to thank the cast for being "the best actors I've ever seen." He also described Cranton's acting, in the role of Walter White, as the best he had "ever seen".
Hopkins continued his praise for the series writing "from what started as a black comedy, descended into a labyrinth of blood, destruction and hell. It was like a great Jacobean, Shakespearian or Greek Tragedy."

The 75-year-old actor felt the series was "addictive" viewing and that he had watched the entire series from "episode one of the First Season - to the last eight episodes of the Sixth Season", claiming he was amazed at "how the producers (yourself being one of them), the writers, directors, cinematographers.. every department - casting etc. managed to keep the discipline and control from beginning to the end is (that over used word) awesome."
Hopkins felt grateful to the cast for inspiring him as he felt in the entertainment industry there was a lot of "bullsh*t" and "smoke blowing". He wrote as such: "Thank you. That kind of work/artistry is rare, and when, once in a while, it occurs, as in this epic work, it restores confidence."
