American rocker Bruce Springsteen is wary of dedicating songs to his mother
because only country singers can do it properly.
The PHILADELPHIA star insists while rock stars are wise to steer clear of
"mother singing", it is a mandatory requirement for country singers, as no one
else does it quite as well - or as often.
He quips, "Singing about your mother is risky in my business.
"Generally, mother singing is confined to country singing, where it's done
very well. Actually, I believe it's required.
"When you sign your country music contract, you've got to have one song
about your mother on every other album."
