After serving as co-host of 'Dancing With the Stars' since season 10, Brooke Burke-Charvet will not be joining the ABC show for its upcoming 18th season.
'Dancing With The Stars' will not only have new contestants when it returns to ABC, but the hosting line-up has also have seen a change.
Brooke Burke-Charvet and the television network have parted ways just as Season 18 is weeks away.
"Weird day..Shocking pre-season elimination #DWTS.ME," she tweeted on Saturday morning (Feb 22nd).
Brooke Burke-Charvet has spoken candidly about her thyroid surgery, and now she's acting candidly, giving the world a glimpse of her scar on Good Morning America.
She first informed everyone of the good news - that she was free of cancer - in early December, writing, "I just got the results back from all of my tests and great news - the thyroid cancer has been removed from my body and all my lymph nodes are clear," in her blog on Modern Mom. "This is a first for me today," she said on Good Morning. "I've been scarf-ing it up. But you know what, it's fresh. It's a month old, and I think scars tell a story. And I'm so fortunate. I'm one of the lucky ones," she continued. "It was shocking. I never thought I would hear the word cancer in relation to myself."
What Brooke has achieved by being so open on her illness (she regularly keeps everyone updated via tweets and her blog) is to give hope to other people in the same situation. Celebrities comprise a large part of life for some, and when they use their profile for good, it gives credence to their position in society. "The message really is about preventative health because I had no symptoms," she says. "And generally, thyroid cancer is very subtle symptoms. I went for a regular physical," she added.
TV host Brooke Burke is snapped with two of her daughters at a Christmas market in Beverly Hills. At one point she can be seen crouching down to her daughters' level and sharing a cuddle in the street.
Brooke Burke’s cancer scare is over! In heartening news the 41 year-old actress and former Dancing With The Stars winner took to website Modern Mom to assure fans that a recent thyroidectomy has gone well and that she is now on the road to recovery.
In what’s been a bit of a whirlwind for Burke and her fans, she only announced on November 8 that she had thyroid cancer; so it’s great to read that she’s managed to sort the illness out as soon as possible. Writing in a blog post, she said “I just got the results back from all of my tests and great news – the thyroid cancer has been removed from my body and all my lymph nodes are clear. So I’m hoping that this is the end of the story. Woohoo!!! And thank GOD!”
In a post that brimmed with positivity, she added “Every day I’m feeling better and I’m looking forward to getting back to my usual routine, but with a bit of a different outlook. I’ve never been one to take life for granted and it sounds so cliché to say it, but this whole thyroid experience has given my family such a scare that it seems to have brought us all closer.” We’ll raise a hearty toast to that, and look forward to seeing the star back in work soon.
Brooke Burke revealed last month, in a candid and emotive YouTube confession, that she had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She has undergone surgery to remove the tumour and we're pleased to let you know that she's now doing a-okay!
Burke has been blogging about her ordeal on the parenting website that she regularly contributes to, Modern Mom. Initially she tried to keep the news from her children for as long as possible, before realizing that it is also their battle. "I've really realized that everything I'm going through, my family is going through too," She said. "I think I'm as concerned for my husband as he is for me - he's been so strong and such a rock... It's so, so important that you care for everyone in a family that's dealing with a medical crisis the same way you emotionally care for the patient themselves. Because we're all in this together."
She tweeted today (6th Nov) about her recovery:

Brooke Burke-Charvet, the co-host of Dancing With the Stars, posted a video on YouTube yesterday, revealing in a candid speech that she has thryoid cancer and will be having surgery to treat it.
Thryoid cancer attacks the thyroid gland, which is in the neck and produces hormones for the body which help control how the body takes in and uses energy and protein from food, as well as the way your body reacts to other hormones. The best treatment for thyroid cancer is simply to to have your thyroid removed, which means that thyroid hormone replacement medication is necessary for the rest of the patient's life.
The thought of all of this is, of course, utterly terrifying, but as Brooke says in her video "Doctors say this is a good kind of cancer to have," adding "Good Cancer? That sounds so crazy." Plus, despite saying "I'm always so used to being in control and taking care of everybody and all my kids, and now I find myself in this really out-of-control situation," she absolutely seems completely in control of herself and her emotions. "I'm gonna be a really good patient" she said, " I'm just going to make a positive out of this negative thing." The video ends with the 'Stand Up To Cancer' logo. The video has already garnered almost 200,000 views and countless comments wishing her luck, plus many have shared their own stories. Her 'negative thing' already seems to be creating something positive by drawing in lines of communication, making cancer okay to talk about and opening up networks of support. We at Contact Music wish Brooke Burke-Charvet all the very best.

Oh well. Their loss is our gain. The Hazing is a monumentally bad horror film, but it's so campy and absurdly gory you can't help but guiltily enjoy your 87-minute stay with it.
