Actress Brittany Snow had no idea movie bosses had green-lighted a sequel to her popular musical comedy Pitch Perfect until a fan broke the news to her via Twitter.com.
The Hairspray star, who played college a cappella group singer Chloe Beale in last year's (12) box office hit, had only heard rumours about the possibility of a follow-up and had to find out about last week's (begs15Apr13) official announcement from Universal Pictures executives in a tweet.
She tells Eonline.com, "I literally found out through Twitter. I had my little secrets that people were telling me, but I didn't really know until... somebody tweeted me that it was happening."
Snow admits she's yet to hear from casting directors so she can only hope that she will be invited to reprise her role alongside comedienne Rebel Wilson and Twilight star Anna Kendrick for the sequel: "I hope I'm in it. Maybe people should rally together to get me in it!"
Pitch Perfect, directed by Jason Moore, grossed over $65 million (£40.6 million) in America upon its release in September (12), making it the second highest-grossing musical comedy movie in U.S. box office history behind Jack Black's 2003 film School of Rock, which garnered more than $81 million (£50.6 million).
Pitch Perfect 2 is expected to be released in 2015.
