He reckons she was poisoned!
Brittany Murphy, the popular Hollywood actress know best for her roles in 8 Mile and Clueless, was believed to have passed away from natural causes in her Los Angeles home in 2009. It was widely believed, and was noted in the coroners report taken after her death, that she died from pneumonia and iron-deficiency anemia, with her intake of prescription drugs a possible stimulant for her death. That is until now, however.
It was at the end of last week that rumours began to become noticeable around the web, rumours that suggested there was more to Brittany's death than the report from the coroners office suggests. Appearing on Tuesday (19 Nov.) morning's edition of Good Morning America, Brittany's father, Angelo Bertolotti, weighed in on his daughter's death, and admitted that he is sure that there were unseen forces at work when his daughter died, admitting that he too believes Brittany was murdered.
"I have a feeling that there was definitely a murder situation here," Angelo told GMA (via ABC News). "Yeah, it's poison. Yes, yes, I know that."
Murphy's father, who had previously challenged the ruling from the coroner, recently ordered a new toxicology report, which shows that samples of the actress' hair tested positive for as many as 10 heavy metals. As seen on GMA, the lab that conducted the latest test have suggested that one possible explanation for this "would be an exposure to these metals (toxins) administered by a third-party perpetrator with likely criminal intent."
The coroner's office who ran the initial tests released their own statement to ABC News, saying, "We have not seen the results and nothing has been presented to us. We stand by what we ruled on the case."
A legal analyst, Dan Abrams, appeared on GMA and said that he believes, with the results of the latest toxicology tests, that Murphy's case will be opened again, either officially or unofficially. The LAPD and LA coroners office have refused to give comment on the matter.
