Britney Spears' mother Lynne and sister Jamie have visited the troubled pop princess, who recently lost custody of her children to ex-husband Kevin Federline.
People magazine reports that the Baby One More Time star's family were surrounded by paparazzi as they arrived at Los Angeles' airport. The singer's mother apparently paid a visit to her daughter's home after her arrival.
Spears reportedly fell out with her mother after a row last June over her two sons. Lynne Spears told reporters at the time that she was praying for her daughter's wellbeing and hoped that she got all the help she needed.
The 25-year-old star has a difficult week ahead according to People, which says she is due to attend joint counselling sessions with Federline, as well as one-on-one parenting sessions and drug tests.
The sessions are a requirement for Spears to keep custody of her children, after the judge hearing her case told her she was a "habitual, frequent and continuous" user of alcohol and controlled substances and ordered her to appear for random drug tests twice a week.
Meanwhile the star was recently charged with misdemeanour hit-and-run, for driving without a valid licence. She could face up to six months in jail and be forced to pay a $1,000 (£500) fine if convicted.
Another hearing has been set for October 26th to review the situation regarding the custody of Spears' sons.
Since splitting with Federline last November Spears' eccentric behaviour has led to a barrage of headlines about her emotional state, while the singer was also dropped by her management last month after a disastrous comeback performance at the MTV video music awards.
Spears recently completed filming the video for Gimme More, the lead single from her new album Blackout - her fifth since the smash-hit Baby One More Time was released in 1998.
