Britney Spears appeared on an episode of hit US show 'Glee' on Tuesday night (September 28th 2010), but the pop superstar's biggest hits were upstaged by a Paramore song, reports MTV News. Although the episode featured some of the 28-year-old's biggest hits, including 'Hit Me Baby One More Time' and 'Toxic', it was the PARAMORE track 'The Only Exception' that closed the episode and stole Spears' thunder.
The episode, which also featured a cameo appearance from Spears, used many of the singer's hit songs in fantasy and dream sequences, as most of the shows characters were under the influence of dental anaesthesia. The story followed 'Quinn', played by Dianna Agron, as she attempted to seduce her ex-boyfriend 'Finn', played by Cory Monteith, however, Finn's girlfriend found out that he rejected the advances, and sang 'The Only Exception' to close to show.
Hayley Williams, the lead singer of PARAMORE seemed happy with the results, after the show she tweeted, "Seriously on cloud 9 after hearing our song on Glee. Pick up their version of 'The Only Exception' on iTunes! So humbled by all of this" Spears also tweeted throughout the episode, mainly focusing on the cameo of actor John Stamos, she said, "John Stamos is still hot! He looks the same as he did on Full House".
