Britney Spears' father has been granted control of his daughter's estate for a further five months by a Los Angeles court.
According to the Associated Press news agency, superior court commissioner Reva Goetz has extended Jamie Spears conservator status of the singer's finances until July 31st.
He had been granted temporary control of his daughter's multi-million dollar estate when she was admitted to hospital in January; the first of two hospitalisations in 2008 so far.
The court's decision to take Spears' estate out of her hands came after she lost custody of her two young sons Jayden James and Sean Preston.
The 26-year-old has since been granted temporary visitation rights after her ex-husband Kevin Federline was lobbied by her parents.
Losing custody of her children capped a disastrous 12 months for Britney in which she responded to the breakup of her marriage by erratic displays of behaviour including shaving her head and briefly entering rehab.
Britney's comeback performance at last year's MTV video music awards also bombed, although her album Blackout reached number two in both the American and UK charts.
