The singer proved her haters wrong by singing along with James Corden.
Britney SpearsBritney Spears hit 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' this week to get involved in his much-loved segment 'Carpool Karaoke'. In a recent preview for the segment, she was mocked for miming along to her 2004 song 'Toxic', but now it seems it was all a lot of fuss over nothing.
Britney Spears sings with James Corden on Carpool Karaoke
She didn't mime the whole way through it, as was initially believed in the preview clip, but she rarely managed to sing through the entirety of a song, unlike her male counterpart who seriously gave it his all. There's always the possibility that she's forgotten the words, which would explain the frequent accusations for miming on stage too.
Together James and Britney sang the likes of 'Womanizer', 'Toxic' and 'Make Me...' (the latter from her new album 'Glory'), but nothing beat their rendition of '...Baby One More Time'. Dressed in matching schoolgirl outfits, they reproduced the famous video, James complete with blonde pigtails. It also seemed to be the song Britney was most enthusiastic about singing, possibly because it was the one that kicked off her legendary pop career in 1998.
When James asked her what 'Oops!... I Did It Again' was about, she had to be totally honest. 'I don't know', she said. 'I really don't know.' Fair enough. It was a long time ago and early in her singing career so she probably didn't have too much input in the songwriting department.
She happily talked about her two kids, and revealed that she'd really like to have three more children to go with 9-year-old Jayden and 10-year-old Sean 'I have to find the right guy first', she confesses adding in a singsong voice: 'All that she wants is another baby'.
However, it doesn't look like a big family is on the horizon anytime soon, as she confesses that she no longer believes in marriage. 'I think I might not ever go to men again', she said. 'Or get married or anything. I'm just done with men.'
Britney Spears has released her new album 'Glory' today (August 26th 2016).
