Bristol Palin, the daughter of Republican politician Sarah Palin, has confirmed that she will appear on the 11th season of US show 'Dancing with the Stars'. Palin - who resides in Alaska - says getting used to filming in Los Angeles will take some getting used to, Hello Magazine quotes the 19-year-old as saying, "I feel like I'm melting, it's so hot here and there's so much traffic". She also commented on how taking part in the show has helped her set a good example for her son 'Tripp', she said, "He loves dancing around [and] bopping his head".
In July 2010, Palin appeared in an episode of the ABC teenage-drama 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager', in which she portrayed a friend of the main character 'Amy Juergens' , however, her appearance on 'Dancing with the Stars' will be her most high-profile television work to date. She will be partnered by professional dancer Mark Ballas, who has won the competition on two separate occasions; in Season 6 with Kristi Yamaguchi, and in Season 8 with Shawn Johnson.
It was reported this week that the longest serving professional dancer on the show, Edyta Sliwinska, will not be returning for Series 11 - citing that she wants to start a family as the reason for her departure.
