Beach Boys star Brian Wilson is set to be honoured for his career achievements at a top music industry event later this year (11).
The legendary songwriter and band co-founder will receive the Chairman's Award for Sustained Creative Achievement from the music business association Narm at its annual dinner in Los Angeles on 12 May (11).
Wilson follows in the footsteps of previous recipients like Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Garth Brooks.
The honour coincides with the Beach Boys' 50th anniversary - although the surviving members of the band have already dismissed reports of a big reunion concert to mark the occasion.
