Rocker BRET MICHAELS handed over signed guitars to the surgeons who treated him for a brain haemorrhage last year (10), telling them, "Thanks for saving my life."
The Poison star returned to St. Joseph's Hospital's Barrow Neurological Institute in Arizona on Thursday (27Oct11) to open the Bret Michaels Hospitality and Music Room, which will feature music listening stations, TVs and guitars for patients to enjoy.
Michaels took time to speak to the doctors who operated on him and expressed his gratitude by presenting them all with a guitar.
Speaking at the unveiling, Michaels said, "When I was here, one of the things I noticed for me, you saw these patients and what they're going through and then you also noticed the families - what they were going through.
"(I hope) the patients' families and their children can be in here and that music - finding that music that you need to listen to - can change your whole day."
Michaels was admitted to the hospital after he suffered bleeding on the brain last April (10). He checked into the facility again in January (11) for an operation to fix a hole in his heart.
