BRET MICHAELS battled severe weather conditions on his way to a gig in Las Vegas on Saturday night (13Oct12) and barely made it to the show in time after his private jet was grounded during the journey.

The Poison star boarded the plane in New York for the trip to Sin City, where he was booked to perform at a party to launch casino/hotel The D, but his jet was forced to land in Tulsa, Oklahoma after bad weather hit.

Michaels used his time on the ground to make a video, capturing the stormy conditions as he waited for take-off.

In the footage, titled Storm Watching with Bret Michaels, the rocker says, "Our plane right now is grounded... New York City was beautiful, we hit Tulsa... there is some severe weather coming. I'm talking tornados, we're talking all kinds of crazy micro-bursts... now it is pouring with rain so bad they grounded us right here.

"We're going to be in here for a little bit. They just grounded a commercial flight... I'm telling you, there is lightning everywhere. This is crazy... It is a crazy storm happening right now."

The plane was eventually allowed to take off, and Michaels made it to the gig in time to perform, and he updated his fans in a series of posts on his Twitter.com page.

He writes, "We weathered the storm... Just rocked The D in Las Vegas. Thank you D and the fans... The jet was grounded due 2 (to) storms from Nyc to Las Vegas, we made it in time to rock."
