Beloved songwriting hero, and Raconteurs co-frontman, Brendan Benson will be returning to the UK for a handful of shows in August following a European Festival run.
Music has been pouring forth from the Nashville resident and Detroit native since the release of his 2012 album What Kind Of World. Four digital singles this year were subsequently released as two limited edition vinyl seven inch singles for Record Store Day - one on his own Readymade Records in the US, the other on Lojinx in the UK. With new songs appearing online monthly via BrendanBenson.com, the next vinyl single will be released to coincide with the UK dates.
Last year NME called out Benson as "one of America's greatest songwriters" and "the 21st-century Harry Nilsson", describing his What Kind Of World album, somewhat eloquently, as "glistening radio rock... more hooks than a Saw movie prop department". Even The Daily Mirror called it "crafted excellence" and The Sun said "an incredible knack for a killer power pop tune and a meaningful lyric".
