The Way We Were Review

Grim
Robert Redford and Barbra Streisand star in a multi-year romantic drama that comes off as about as believable as a love affair between myself and a potted plant. Widely loathed for its sacharrine approach (and Streisand's acting), the shrill Ms. Babs is so unsympathetic as the local communist sympathiser that you can't help but be aghast in wonder over why Redford's character would possibly see anything in her. Of course, this film had a popular song come from it (see if you can guess what it was, Einstein), and a legion of Babs fans believe their goddess can do no wrong, so, for better or worse, The Way We Were is going to be with us as a "classic" romance for some time to come.

Sudden Impact Review

Weak
The fourth installment in the Dirty Harry series (7 years after the third) has the unlikely tale of Eastwood's Callahan after a murderous woman bend on revenge against the men who raped her and her sister 10 years earlier. Features the first appearance of "Go ahead, make my day." Also note that the movie was later aped as Basic Instinct, right down to the San Francisco setting.

Escape From The Planet Of The Apes Review

OK
OK... the Earth has been blown up, all human and ape races have been extinguished (including all original characters of the first and second productions), and the thought of another Apes sequel is about as possible as Natalie Wood starring in Brainstorm 2. Neverless, Arthur Jacobs, along with screenwriter Paul Dehn, put together a third Apes movie. This feat is achieved by sending Cornelius and Zira (McDowall and Hunter reprising their original roles) back in time, leaving right before the nuclear apocalypse of the future perpetuated by Heston's Taylor, all through hopping on Taylor's sunken spaceship from the first movie. (The only problem with that is that the spaceship is somehow repaired by an ape society that initially didn't even know how to run a microwave oven.)

I know, I know, I must be losing you by now, but stay with me, it gets funnier.

The Enforcer Review

Grim
Dirty Harry #3 is undoubtedly the worst of the bunch, with Callahan chasing down a group of hippie radical terrorists, several years after the end of the hippie radical terrorist era. A few minor points for excellent use of such enormous area landmarks as Coit Tower, Alcatraz, and Tyne Daly.
