The Bachelorette star Emily Maynard is faced with drama everyday as she seeks to find a husband, though it seems things are just as tense behind the scenes of the ABC show. According to US Weekly magazine, Maynard is currently feuding with her daughter Ricki's grandparents.
The parents of her deceased fiance Ricky Hendricks are unhappy about Emily's decision to star in the reality show, with one insider saying, "When Emily went on The Bachelor, they weren't pleased, but they supported her.Now they're not speaking. They don't want their grandchild in the spotlight. They are private people". It was initially claimed that Maynard's insistence to shoot the show in her hometown of Charlotte - rather than Los Angeles - was to be close to daughter Ricki, though the source claims this was actually to pacify her in-laws. The insider added, "They didn't want Ricki uprooted. They also wanted Ricki kept out of the spotlight, not exploited".

The Bachelorette star Emily Maynard made contestant Kalon wish he had never used the 'b' word on Monday's instalment of the dating show. (June 11, 2012). The group travelled to London for the latest round of dates, though word got back to Maynard that Kalon had described her daughter Ricki has "baggage".
Emily's daughter is clearly a major part of her life, and her dedication to Ricki was reported to have been a key reason as to her split from 'The Bachelor' Brad Womack. In the latest episode of the show, contestant Doug took it upon himself to tell Emily what Kalon had said. The Bachelorette exploded upon hearing the news, saying, "[I'm] so angry right now.I'm trying to think of the most ladylike way I can handle it. . I want to go off. I wanna go West Virginia hoodrat backwoods on his ass". Kalon is quickly establishing himself as the pantomime villain on the group - the Texas native caused a stir in the very first episode by arriving on a helicopter. He finally got his comeuppance on Monday though, with Maynard telling him, "For anyone to say (my daughter) is baggage does not deserve to be on any date with me.She's the furthest thing from baggage. It makes me sad for you, not for me. Is there anything you can say?". Kalon showed little remorse, shrugging, "No, not at all", with Emily yelling, "Then, get the f*ck out!...How dare you! That is so disappointing on so many levels".
The departure of Kalon handed to initiative to Jef, who was able to take Emily's mind off things during their date in London. It seemed to work, and the couple shared a kiss in the final moments.
It's official; EMILY MAYNARD will be 'The Bachelorette' after weeks of expectation that the former 'The Bachelor' contestant would indeed take the mantle. As one of those trying to attract the attention of 'The Bachelors' in the 15th season, she won the heart of the notoriously hard to impress Brad Womack - who'd rejected all advances in the 11th season. That didn't work out however, despite the pair getting engaged, and now she's back to give love another chance by offering a rose to one of 25 potential suitors in the forthcoming series of 'The Bachelorette."
People Magazine last week reported that Maynard, who has a six year old daughter, was described in a statement as "hoping that third time is the charm," continuing "She is looking for someone who makes her laugh, doesn't take himself too seriously and can be her best friend." Maynard herself had said "I need stability. A lot of times in Charlotte, I would go out with guys, and most guys knew my story. It's just a lot to handle. And with a young child, you know, it's a lot to ask of guys."
The new season of 'The Bachelorette' will start its eighth season in May on ABC; it started as a spin off back in 2003 from the original but has gone on to be a huge success in its own right.

EMILY MAYNARD, a former winner on reality-show 'The Bachelor', has broken her silence surrounding the controversial 'The Bachelorette' contestant Bentley Williams. EMILY MAYNARD recently split from her fiance Brad Womack and returned the engagement ring he presented her with on season fifteen of the hit dating show, reports People Magazine.
Current 'Bachelorette' Ashley Hebert was stunned during Monday's show, when Bentley left the reality series citing his disappointment that Maynard wasn't the star of this year's programme. However, Emily doesn't believe the businessman would have acted differently had she agreed to be 'The Bachelorette', saying, "He clearly had an agenda for being on the show, and it wasn't to fall in love. It's hard for me to believe that someone could be that hurtful and just mean spirited". Eight million viewers tuned in to witness Bentley embarrass Hebert by acrimoniously leaving the series. Speaking after the exit, Ashley said, "I'm extremely humiliated. He had intentions to really hurt me - and he did". However, Maynard believes what goes around comes around, saying, "If I were Bentley, I would certainly be sleeping with one eye open".

Ashley Hebert, the star of The Bachelorette, has denied that she is 'insecure', reports People Magazine. Ashley Hebert appeared on the last series of 'The Bachelor', but failed to win the heart of Brad Womack, who eventually chose EMILY MAYNARD as his potential bride.
Herbert, who began her search for love on last week's 'Bachelorette' premiere, claims she is now a far more confident person, saying, "A misconception people have when they watched the show is that I'm insecure. I am so secure and confident and a lot of what happened between Brad and me brought out some weird side of me that doesn't define who I am". Monday's season premiere saw Hebert introduced to the 25 hopefuls that are looking to win her heart. Among the potential suitors was 'Tim', a contestant who was shown the door for being too drunk, and 'Jeff', a man who insisted on wearing a mask in order to conceal his looks. The new season, which continues tonight (30th May 2011), will see Hebert travelling to a number of international destinations including Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Fiji in her search for love. The 26-year-old said, "People will be surprised with what they see. I think it's a season people are going to get attached to and want to know what happens".
Ashley Hebert, a dental student from Madawaska, Maine, was eliminated during week nine of last season's 'The Bachelor'.
