Brad Pitt will no longer be starring in explorer drama 'The Lost City of Z' due to his appearance in mafia movie 'Cogan's Trade'.
Brad Pitt has pulled out of starring in 'The Lost City of Z'.
The 46-year-old star will no longer play explorer and spy Percy Fawcett in the adaptation of David Grann's book and will instead appear in 'Cogan's Trade', Vulture blog reports.
The book told the tale of Fawcett, who led an expedition in 1925 to find the lost city of El Dorado, never to return again.
'Cogan's Trade' will see Pitt reunite with Andrew Dominick - whom he worked with on 'The Assassination of Jess James by the Coward Robert Ford' - and leaves James Gray, who was due to direct 'The Lost City of Z' without a leading actor.
Pitt - who is in a long-term relationship with actress Angelina Jolie - has a number of projects coming up, following the end of promotion for animated comedy 'Megamind'.
Next year sees 'The Tree of Life' with Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain hit cinemas, before work begins on 'World War Z', a movie telling the tale of the world ten years after a zombie epidemic, which is due for release in 2012.
