As far as personal revelations go, Brad Pitt is probably one of the most private Hollywood celebrities out there. However, he does nothing half way, and so, when he opened up about his personal life to Esquire magazine, you can bet there were some grand revelations.
Pitt went as far back as his marriage to Jennifer Anniston and that dark, drug-filled period of his life. And just when you think that it all sounds like a slap in the face for Aniston, the Curious Case of Benjamin Button star recounts his turnaround, just about ten years ago: "It was a conscious change. This was about a decade ago. It was an epiphany - a decision not to squander my opportunities," he told the magazine. "It was a feeling of get up. Because otherwise, what's the point?"
Coincidentally, that was just around the time that Pitt was getting his divorce from Aniston and meeting Jolie for the first time. Ouch. But the interview isn’t completely against the former Friends star, with Pitt’s makeup artist, of all people, defending her (in a way.)
"I think Brad was ready to soar when he met Angie," says Jean Black, who was working with Pitt right around that time. "This is not to say anything negative about Jennifer. I was part of that and I know that he and Jen are very good friends and he cared deeply for her.”
As for his marriage to Angelina and their large family together, Pitt apparently had nothing but love and pride on his mind, when he discussed married life with Esquire: "I have very few friends. I have a handful of close friends and I have my family and I haven't known life to be any happier."
Life used to be the pits, but not anymore!
"There's constant chatter in our house, whether it's giggling or screaming or crying or banging. I love it. I love it. I love it. I hate it when they're gone. I hate it.
"Maybe it's nice to be in a hotel room for a day - 'Oh, nice, I can finally read a paper.' But then, by the next day, I miss that cacophony, all that life."
D’aaaw. Don’t you just love a bit of warm, fuzzy celebrity news to make the week go faster?
