Country stars Brad Paisley and LEE ANN WOMACK were celebrating yesterday (07SEP05) after landing six nominations each for the 2005 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards.

Paisley's ALCOHOL hit landed him with nods in the Best Single, Best Song and Best Music Video of The Year categories, while he'll also compete for the Best Male Vocalist, Musical Event of The Year (duet NEW AGAIN with SARA EVANS) and coveted Entertainer of The Year prizes.

Womack leads the women with nominations for Female Vocalist of The Year, Album of The Year (THERE'S MORE WHERE THAT CAME FROM) and Single and Music Video of The Year (I MAY HATE MYSELF IN THE MORNING).

She also has two nominations in the Musical Event of The Year category for duets she recorded with Willie Nelson (I'LL NEVER BE FREE) and GEORGE STRAIT (GOOD NEWS, BAD NEWS).

Meanwhile, Toby Keith and Keith Urban both netted four nominations each, while Sugarland, Rascal Flatts, Gretchen Wilson and GEORGE STRAIT were nominated three times at a ceremony this morning.

The 39th annual CMAs, hosted by duo BROOKS + DUNN, will take place at New York City's Madison Square Garden in November (05).
