Singer Brad Paisley will lead the way at the 2009 Academy of Country Music Awards after garnering a whopping six nominations.
Paisley, who took home two trophies at Sunday's Grammy Awards (08Feb09), will be the act to beat at the 44th annual prizegiving as he goes for gold in categories including Entertainer of the Year and Top Male Vocalist.
Former Trick Pony singer Heidi Newfield, who left the group in 2006 to pursue a solo career, is up for five awards, including Top Female Vocalist and Song Of The Year for her track Johnny & June.
Country stars Kenny Chesney and George Strait also received four nods - and will go head-to-head with one another to take home the Entertainer Of The Year and the Top Male Vocalist statuettes.
Teen star Taylor Swift will hope it's third time lucky as she competes again for the Top Female Vocalist category after losing the honour for the last two years.
The awards show is due to take place on 5 April (09) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
