LATEST: Actor Brad Garrett is expected to return to the set of EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND today (27AUG03), following reports his salary dispute has finally been settled.

Garrett, whose hold-out for more cash resulted in him being written out of the eighth season's first two episodes, reached a deal that boosts his salary and gives him a small stake in the comedy's profits, according to the Hollywood REPORTER.

While American TV network CBS has no comment on any deal with Garrett, spokesman CHRIS ENDER says Garrett is expected on the set today, adding, "We look forward to welcoming him back."

Garrett's representatives had previously criticised CBS' refusal to discuss a new deal for Garrett, saying his salary was a fraction of that of series star Ray Romano's $1.8 million (GBP1.1 million) an episode, who is also an executive producer on the show.

Garrett wasn't the only star absent from the set since work fellow castmembers Patricia Heaton, Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts each had missed at least a day of work.

They've since accepted a small portion of the nearly $1 billion (GBP625 million) in backend profits from syndication, foreign sales and home video, after bosses agreed to give up part of their profits.
