LATEST: Irish pop stars Boyzone are reuniting with a new frontman to replace Ronan Keating.

Manager Louis Walsh has wanted to resurrect the group since they last performed in 1999 - but Keating has forged a successful solo career and refused to rejoin Stephen Gately, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham.

But Pop Idol judge Walsh has vowed to press ahead, with one of the contestants from the British talent show in Keating's place.

He says, "It's official. Stephen Gately is in so that's four back, without Ronan. I am hoping to get one of earlier POP IDOL finalists, probably BRIAN ORMOND."
