Eighties pop star Boy George was so upset when the Broadway production of his taboo musical was axed, he called in sick.

The former CULTURE CLUB singer - who also stars in the production of his life story - admits he feigned an illness when Taboo's producer, talk show host ROSIE O'DONNELL, phoned him to announce the show's cancellation.

He says, "I was surprised to receive a phone call from our producer Rosie O'Donnell just two hours before a performance to say we had three weeks left.

"My reaction was to call in sick, which created panic at the box office. After a frantic phone call from one of my fellow actors I decided it was bad practice and returned the following day."
