Christmas cash from the cast of legal drama Boston Legal and money the show's star William Shatner made by auctioning off his removed kidney stone is helping to build a home. The cast of the show decided to hand over cash they intended to spend of Christmas gifts for one another to housebuilding charity Habitat For Humanity - and Star Trek icon Shatner decided to hand over his auction money. Habitat For Humanity spokeswoman ERIN PARK says, "William Shatner presented the funds to us and, in addition to the Boston Legal funds, that made it possible for this house. "We're really appreciative. It's kind of an odd donation, but, you know what, it builds a house for a family in need." Shatner sold his kidney stone for $25,000 (GBP13,800) to online casino GoldenPalace.com last year (05). The Boston Legal cast raised a further $20,000 (GBP11,100) for the charity. Volunteers started putting the three-bedroom house together in Los Angeles' Elysian Park this morning (09JUN06).
