Boogie Nights creator Paul Thomas Anderson has admitted plagiarising one of the characters from the raunchy black comedy.

The movie-maker won widespread critical acclaim for his 1997 parody of the 1970s and 80s porn industry and the film scooped three ACADEMY AWARD nominations.

But Anderson has confessed he copied Heather Graham's character ROLLERGIRL from a real life porn film.

When Robert Redford's SUNDANCE INSTITUTE honoured him in New York this week (begs28APR03), the director admitted the naked rollerskater was based on an adult actress he saw in the SPY GAME star's private collection of porn - which he screened as a Sundance fellow.
