Despite Bono declaring last night's (13FEB05) Grammy Awards as the best
"ever seen", TV ratings show the ceremony scored its second-lowest number of
viewers in its history.
Bosses at American TV network CBS say the telecast drew 18.83 million
viewers - the lowest figure since March 1995 and the second-lowest in the
history of NIELSEN MEDIA RESEARCH's Grammy viewership data.
Ratings juggernaut Desperate Housewives, which is broadcast on rival
network NBC, ran an hour into the Grammy Awards and drew almost 3 million more
viewers than the star-studded ceremony.
